My first Quilt!!!

Morning all. I just had to do a post about my first quilt, which I completed last month. I am so happy with how it turned out, even though it is far from perfect!! I learnt a lot of lessons along the way, and know that my quilting skills can only improve from here.

The pattern I used is the Avignon Picnic pattern which I uploaded from the Moda Bake Shop (their link is in my side-bar!). I can't say it was the perfect first timer pattern with lots of cutting and piecing involved, but I am a "go big or go home" kind of person. I used a lovely Moda fabric Jelly Roll and just used some basic calico for the cream fabric. Here are some pics of my quilt.

    No wonder you've been so quiet. This is a beautiful piece of work Rene. Just love quilts. A lot of work though, but I'm sure you enjoyed it. Well done, you clever girl!
