Say it in ...

... green & blue. That's the theme we are working with this week. I love this colour combo, so really enjoyed putting together this spring inspired card (even though we are heading for Autumn here in South Africa!!) I used the lovely stamp set "Floral Stems" which is available from Annabelle Stamps. It really is a very versatile and pretty set, and you can use it to makes all sorts of cards. I used a computer generated title. I want to send this card to a couple who lost their baby a day after he was born. It really made me think about how blessed Ray and I are to have 3 healthy children. I also want to send out a message to my fellow DT gal Michelle, she is in hospital at the moment, and I just wanted her to know that I am thinking of her and sending her lots of love and prayers!!

So without further ado, here is my card:

Please stop by the other DT girls blogs to see their gorgeous green & blue creations. Their links are all in my sidebar. Remember you still have a week to take part in our Bling Challenge!! It is a lovely sketch to work with, and even better, you stand the chance to win a "Flourishes" stamp set, and a jar of yummy Sprinkles. The link to the Bling Challenge is in my sidebar.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Mojo Mondays Sketch & Tales from Pollycraft Weekly Challenge

Hi everyone. Hope your Wednesday is treating you well. I seem to be settling into a routine this week, now that I am back at work with my hubby. Nice for my mornings to be a little less frenetic!

So today I am posting a card that qualifies for 3 different "challenges". The sketch I have followed is the latest one from the Mojo Monday blog. It was quite a challenging one this week, but I really enjoying working out of my normal comfort zone a bit! This is also my 2nd card I doing to try and get on the Tales from Pollycraft DT. The images that are available from Pollycraft are just adorable, and are just up my street. VERY cute!! The Pollycraft Challenge Blog is challenging us to create a card with sparkle on it. I used some lovely sparkly gold floss, sparkly gold bling around the circle, and used gold Stickles on the flame of the candle.

So anyway, moving along!! Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Thanks for stopping by, would love to know what you think of my card!!

A card for the Teddy Stampers Challenge

Two posts in one day. Wow!! I made this card over the weekend. My fellow DT member Jerusha is involved with the Teddy Stampers site, and I wanted to make a card to take part in their weekly challenge. Apparently it was Mothers Day in the UK over the weekend, so the theme was to create a Mothers Day card using a cute teddy. I found just the teddy, which was a freebie from Tales from Pollycraft (the DT I am trying out for!!). Anyway, here is my card:

Hope you like my card, as much as I enjoyed putting it together!!

Project Life ~ 8 March - 14 March

Another Tuesday has rolled around, my the weeks are passing in a flash. Thanks for stopping by my blog to look at my photos again this week. I hope you enjoy your visit!!

Monday
8 March

The strelizia's are blooming beautifully at the moment. They certainly add beautiful colour to the garden. The front garden is made a much brighter place by these beautiful flowers in the bed in the middle of the garden.

Tuesday
9 March

I ADORE this photo I managed to capture of Jamie watching T.V., he is totally absorbed by the programme he is watching. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. His face is changing and maturing so quickly, and he is becoming a real little boy now. Wish he would slow down!!

Wednesday
10 March

Bryce came home and showed me his excellent marks. He really is my academic child, and I am so proud of the pride he has in his work. I love the fact that he does his school work so conscientiously! Caide had a good sports day today. His cricket team played against Hamilton and they won their game convincingly. Caide scored a wonderful 18 runs. It was so much fun to watch!

Thursday
11 March

Jamie had his first gala today, and it was the most adorable thing to witness. He is the little one in the middle with his arms up ready to dive!! He was so enthusiastic, and had a ball. It was a good day for me too, because today was my last swimming lesson. I am now officially down to one job, and I will now be able to dedicate myself to Ray and working with him.

Friday
12 March

I am LOVING my Copics right now. I am so enjoying my card making again, and colouring in my images with these little beauties is such a pleasure. I love seeing my collection growing, and all the beautiful colours just make me happy!!

Saturday
13 March

I have been feeling grotty for over a week now, so I finally decided to go and see the doctor! He diagnosed sinusitis, no wonder my head has been feeling like its going to explode! Hopefully all this medicine will have me feeling better soon. I hate being sick!!

Sunday
14 March

When I am feeling sick Ray makes me macaroni and cheese. It is my feel good food, and he really cooks this meal well. It was delicious as usual, and it was so nice to not have to worry about the cooking for a change. I am not a huge cook!! Give me my hobbies any day!

Thanks so much for stopping by again this week. I love it when you come and visit! Hope you have a good week ahead of you. Would love for you to become a Follower! Thanks so much. Smiles x

Copic Creations & Friday Sketchers Card

Hi all. Wow, posting 3 days in a row, must be a record for me!! It's almost 6am on Sunday morning here in South Africa. Having a 2 year old doesn't allow for sleeping in time for Mom!! So while I was up and about I thought I may as well post a card!

I am extra happy with the way this card turned out!! I really enjoyed colouring the image and following the sketch from Friday Sketchers. It was a fun one to work with. The challenge over at Copic Creations was to use green on your card to celebrate St Pattys day. I used my 2 fav greens on Bella's pants YG91 & YG95, and on her parcels G02 & G21, I used some lovely green & pink p.p which is what I based my colouring on. I cut the leaves out with my new Slice "Think Pink" design card, added some flowers and the bling are pink Sprinkles which are from Annabelle Stamps.

Here is the sketch we had to follow:

And here is my card:

Would love to know what you think of my card!! I LOVE reading your comments. Enjoy what's left of the weekend. It's supposed to be a cooler day today, lovely!!

Tales from Pollycraft DT call

Hope you are all having a good weekend so far. I have been feeling grotty for a week, so I am off to the doctor shortly!

While I was doing some blog surfing yesterday I was checking out the Tales from Pollycraft site, and noticed that they are having a DT call. I did a little happy dance. I love this site, and the images that they give away are always so cute. And you know me, I love cute!! I had to try out!! They are giving away 2 images, and then you have to make a card with one of the images to try out.

I decided to use the adorable "Codi" image, this little girl has style. She was so easy to colour in with my Copics, and I had fun putting this card together! So here is my card from a few different angles:

I really hope Paula likes my card, and will consider me for a position on her awesome DT. Please stop for a moment and have a look around the rest of my blog. Hold thumbs for me o.k!

ABSC017 - Bling Challenge Time Again.

Hi All. It's Friday, which means its time for our Bling Challenge over at Annabelle Stamps. As with our previous challenge this one will also run for 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to make your card, so no excuses! The sketch this week is a great one, and I really enjoyed working with it. It was designed by Teresa, another of our fab DT girls. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card from various angles. I think I have finally worked out the best way to photograph my cards (thanks Sue)!! The image and sentiment I used is the adorable one from the "I can fly" set, this set was up for offer for our challenge last week. I also used some lovely rich red Sprinkles. For our challenge this fornight, the set you can win is the "Flourishes" set as well as a jar of Sprinkles!!

We would love for you to take part. All you need to do is follow the sketch and add some bling to your card. We had good numbers for the last challenge, lets try and beat that! If you are looking to buy any Annabelle Stamps, or some yummy Sprinkles just click on the Annabelle Blinkie in the sidebar. Hope you can play along!!

Project Life ~ 1 March - 7 March

Thanks for stopping over for a visit again this week. So far my Project Life is going well, and since deciding to take part I haven't missed a day!! So without further ado here are my photos for the week:

Monday:
1 March '10:
I love this photo of Jamie with his new short hair. I gave him a hair-cut in the bath last night. We told him he looks like a real boy, and now he says his name is Real Boy. He is so funny!

Tuesday:
2 March '10:
We had a mishap today with Bryce spilling tea on the chest in the top lounge. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because inside I found 2 crocheted blankets that I had all but forgotten about. The pink one my Gran made for me when I was a little girls, and the other I crocheted years ago. How wonderful to discover lost treasures!

Wednesday:
3 March '10:
This afternoon the boys got down to business and polished their school shoes by themselves for the first time. Bryce had insisted that I buy polish and a brush so they could make their shoes shiny and clean for their school photos the next day.

Thursday:
4 March '10:
Since moving the boys back to Uelzen they have missed quite a few swimming lessons. Today Caide heard that they were doing badges, and he insisted on going. One of his friends J.J. was going for his 2500m badge so of course he had to go for his too. (My competitive son!). We settled in at the pool, me with my notebook to mark off the 100 lengths he had to swim!! He of course made it, and swam his 2500m in a time of 1h 2min's. So proud of you big boy!

Friday:
5 March '10:
Jamie needed a pee, so I opened the back security gate to let him go outside to have his pee in the garden. As I was helping him take his pants off he casually said "look at that big spider". I nearly had a heart attack. There on the door frame, right where I had just unlatched the door was this huge rain spider!! Of course I had to take a photo! I then managed to get the spider into an empty ice-cream tub, and we let it go in the veld across the road.

Saturday:
6 March '10:

The bane of Ray's existence right now is our swimming pool! The pool we inherited when buying the house is a 25 year old plastic lined pool. So needless to say, the plastic is splitting left right and centre, and we are losing water almost continually! Today Ray was in the chilly water trying to find a hole to fix. After about 30 minutes in the pool he had to admit defeat, he couldn't find the hole!!

Sunday:
7 March '10:
The boys have spent a lot of time playing in the tree this weekend. They were having a blast doing their best Tarzan impressions. They love it when I take photos of them doing their various activities, and today was no exception! I had to take about 5 photos before I got just the right shot!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog again this week. I am really enjoying being a part of this special community! I would love for you to become a follower of my blog.

Simon Says & Quixotic Challenges

Hi everyone. Hope your weekend has been good so far. Mine has been lovely and quiet!! So I got up early this morning and put together a card that qualifies for the weekly challenge over at Simon Says. The theme for the week is a Mother's Day or Girly card. I made this card to send to my 2 nieces, Kayla and Amy. I haven't seen them for ages and miss them so much. Jamie talks about them all the time! As it so happens my card also qualifies for the challenge over at Quixotic Challenges. The challenge was to use leaves on your card. I cut out a leaf using one of my Cuttlebug Leaf Dies, and cut it in half and stuck it under my flower.

I used a Magnolia image and so enjoyed coloring in this gorgeous little girl, I haven't done much coloring lately, and have been bitten by the Copics bug again! I have placed an order with Paola for some new colors which I hope to receive next week. The sentiment I used is from a set called "I can fly" by Annabelle Stamps. This same set is up for grabs in the Annabelle Stamps fortnightly challenge. Check out the link in my sidebar. The lovely bling I used are pink Sprinkles, also available from Annabelle Stamps. I added some glitter to her little fairy wings.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, would love to know what you think of my card!

Say it with ... CAKE

We have decided to mix it up a little over at Annabelle Stamps. We are doing our Sketch challenge every 2 weeks, and in between we will be doing a theme card. Remember you have one week left to take part in our sketch challenge, cause you really want to win the adorable stamp set "I can fly". Click on the link in my sidebar!!

So as my title would indicate, our theme for the week is CAKE, and all of the DT girls have created a card using an Annabelle cake stamp. The stamp I used if from the "Helen's Party" set, and the sentiment is also from the same set. The dotted swirl I stamped on either side of the cake image is a stamp from the "Build-a-bling" set, and of course I used lots of yummy Sprinkles on my card. All these items are available from the Annabelle Stamps shop, there is a link in my side-bar.

So here is my card:

Please stop by the other DT girl's blogs to see the lovely CAKE cards they have created. Have an awesome weekend!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 58

I have had the urge to make some cards recently, which is great. I seem to go in stages with all my different hobbies. I came across Karen Giron's blog, and liked the sketch for the week so decided to take part in her challenge.

So here is the sketch we had to follow:

And here is my card from a couple of angles. I am really disappointed with the way the photos came out, believe me, the card actually looks a lot better in real life! The stamps I used on this card are by Hero Arts, and the sentiment is from a set called "Jasmine's Cupcake" by Annabelle Stamps. I coloured the images in with my Copics and used the following colours: E31, E33, B60, B63, RV10, R20.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Wednesday already, half way through the work week!!

Project Life ~ 22 February - 28 February

Thanks for joining me again this week. I really appreciate every comment that is left for me, and enjoying reading each one. So how has your past week been??

Here are my photos to show you what we got up to last week.

Monday:
22 February:
I thought I would take a photo of our supper as our P.O.T.D. Spaghetti bolognaise is something I often cook on a Monday night because it's quick and easy. We all really enjoy it, though Ray is not a huge fan! It's especially nice with some freshly grated cheese on top!

Tuesday:
23 February:
Today was a huge day for us!! After months of soul searching we decided to move the boys back to Uelzen. The academic pressure that was placed on the kids at Ichthus was ridiculous, and the boys (especially Caide!) were just not able to maintain a balance between academics, sport & play. I am 200% sure we have made the correct decision, it just feels right!

Wednesday:
24 February:
It feels wonderful that the boys are able to play again in the afternoons. Since the boys went back to Uelzen yesterday the atmosphere in our home has changed. The pressure is off and it feels wonderful! My kids can be kids again, the way it should be. I am happy!!

Thursday:
25 February:
My boys are still playing! Caide pulled out his Carrera car track (which they haven't played with ages!!) and have played with it solidly for the last 2 days. Constructive play, I love it!

Friday:
26 February:
I got to wear my Xmas shoes & knitted socks to work today, so nice that the weather was cooler. It was hot in the office though! It was a hectic, stressful & busy morning. It was month end and financial year end so I had loads to do!! Yay, yay it's Friday!

Saturday:
27 February:
Occasionally on the weekends we get the boys to help with the dishes. I think it's important for them to help around the house sometimes. Some days they help with a good grace, and on others, not so much. Can you guess how the mood was today??

Sunday:
28 February:

This morning was quite an emotional one for me. We had to say good-bye to friends of ours that are leaving for Canada. Dane & Debra have been our friends for the last 9 years, and Debra has been one of my closest and most true friends. We have been through a lot, and I am going to miss her terribly!! When we got home I decided to try a smoked chicken salad for lunch. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to have lunch outside under the lapa.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a good week ahead of you!! I would really like for you fellow Project Lifers to become a Follower of my blog, it would mean a lot to me, it will only take a minute. Thanks!!
