New digi releases from Some Odd Girl!

It's Tuesday and that means it's digi day at Some Odd Girl. I am so excited to be posting this, these new images are ADORABLE. I know they will appeal to a lot of you crafty ladies out there!!!

First up is - PHONE CALL MAE, isn't she too adorable chatting up a  storm with her BFF!! This image is perfect to use on a card for a friend who is far away! She really is perfect to let someone know you would LOVE to chat to them!

I tried to make this card super girly!! Mae is such a purdy girl isn't she!?!

Next up is - JOGGER MAE! Mae has decided she has spent too much time talking on the phone, and she needs to get active!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this image. I am a jogger myself (or at least I try to be:), so this new image totally "speaks" to me and my fitness conscious self!!

For this card I tried to go with more a sporty athletic vibe! The circle behind Mae's head reminds me of the sun rising, Mae likes to exercise early :) Both the sentiments I used were printed out on the computer.

So what do you think?!? Aren't they just the nicest images?!? I LURVE them lots!! If you are a SOME ODD GIRL fan, why not join our Ning Community (Some Odd World), it is so much fun!!

If you are interested in dashing off to buy either of these gorgeous images, head HERE!!

I hope you have enjoyed your time here at my blog, it was so nice that you visited!! :)

A post expaining my Project Life setup!

I have been keeping a Project Life album for the last 4 years, and I can honestly say it is the best thing I have done as far as memory keeping is concerned. The fact that I have recorded almost every day (in a photo or with journaling), of the last four years of my family’s life is amazing. My kids and I love to look back and remember what we did on a specific day in years gone by! Up until now I have had to import my products, so the fact that SCRAPBOOK STUDIO is now stocking Project Life products is fantastic!! Let me share with you a little about my Project Life setup and album for 2013.

This is my Project Life station which I have set up in our family room. My album is always open, ready for me to add a bit of journaling or to print a photo and to slip it into a pocket. I try not to get more than a couple of weeks behind so that I can remember the details of what happened on that specific day. I more often than not will sit down and have a session where I print out my photos, and then I add the journaling and extras here and there when I have the time!

The first product you will need to buy is the album. The next thing is the plastic sleeves that are used inside the album. I normally buy the pack that includes enough sleeves for the whole year.

I LOVE that you are able to buy journaling cards, fill-in cards, and the 4 x 6 cards that are used for you to fill in the date (in this photo that is the green card with the black arrow). I have been keeping a PL album  for a number of years now, so to make this album a bit different I use hand journaling, text from the computer, and an old typewriter to write my journaling. Hand writing is obviously the quickest option to use. I normally buy the card pack that includes enough cards for a whole year. I took my cards out of the box that they came in and moved them and some other “stuff” into this metal container which I bought from a street vendor.

These are the dividers that separate each month of the year.

These are the products that I use all the time in my album. I round all the corners of my photos, and use the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to attach any memorabilia or other bits or bobs that I would like to include with a photo.

Here is a week’s spread. Sometimes I don’t do a journaling card for a specific day, and sometimes I print more than one photo for a day. It is all entirely up to you!! Project Life is all about you, and YOUR memories.

Here are some photos of some of my pages. I like to add some stickers, do some journaling on strips, include memorabilia when I have it and add washi tape strips. I use a computer program called Picasa to edit and print my photos; it can be downloaded for free off the internet.

I hope you have been inspired to take up Project Life!!!

Another Some Odd Girl Card

I created this card for the latest challenge on the Some Odd Girl Ning Site -

... Trash Your Stash Challenge...

 - trash your flowers!!

I have had these orange flowers in my stash for a scary number of years!!!

I cut the card base shape and the grass using a Silhouette Cameo cut file. The sentiment is from a very old Simon Says stamp set called Woodland Creatures. The cute SOG image is called Garden Mae, the Some Odd Girl shop can be found HERE. They have a BIG Summer Sale going on right now, go and check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping in today, I have turned off the WORD VERIFICATION. Sorry if it irritated any of you! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Challenge no.18 - Stencils, Paint and Paste

So I was a bad girl and didn't get my SCRAP AFRICA DT page loaded to our team blog before the cut-off time!! I had created a page for the challenge, but just hadn't gotten around to taking photos yet, so here is my take on the challenge, late, but I am still going to blog about it!! I had SO much fun with this challenge, and am delighted with the way the page turned out. I cut a target shape with my Silhouette Cameo, sprayed some temporary adhesive to the back and then sprayed my cardstock with some Mr Huey's Color Mist. I absolutely ADORE this effect, and will be using this technique again soon!!

I also totally adore these photos of Jamie and his little friend Nikki, she has such spunk that child, and constantly has me in stitches. The 2 get on so well.

So I hope you will find the time to play along with us, it is a great challenge!!!
