Sketch # 88 at Sketches in Thyme

The latest sketch is up at Sketches in Thyme, it's a double pager, which I adapted to make into a single page layout. It's a great sketch utilizing lots of photos, so I hope you will consider playing along with us!!!

My layout is all about my youngest, Jamie's experience of Bloemfontein, where we visited to watch Caide play hockey.

I had loads of fun putting this page together, who could not have fun using such wonderful photos!!!

So here is the sketch for you to play with:

As you can see I used the left hand side of the sketch for my layout.

So, get your scrapping shoes on, and come and play along with us. We really can't wait to see what you create with this fabby sketch. For more inspiration please visit the Sketches in Thyme Blog, it's also where you will need to link your layout.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Smiles,

Workout #74 at ScrapFIT

I am back with another layout to share with you this afternoon. I had loads of fun playing with the latest sketch challenge over at ScrapFIT, I had just the photos I wanted to use for this page.

The lovely photos I used on my layout were taken by my brother-in-law, Geoff Redman. He and my sis were visiting my Mom, who had the girls with her. While they were there Geoff and Lauren set up a FaceTime call, so Jamie could chat to his cousins. It was loads of fun, and lots of laughs, especially while Jenna had her finger up her nose. I am so glad Geoff was able to capture this special moment for us!!!

I also used a few metallic elements, which were part of another lesson in the Trendspotting Class. I love the addition of this bling to my page.

Here is the lovely ScrapFIT sketch:

Of course you can see I used my lovely Silhouette Cameo loads on this page. This is the most awesome machine out there I tell ya!!!

So.... I hope the week ahead is great for all of you. Sending you smiles and happiness

Challenge # 51 at Southern Girls, and an entry into Challenge # 30 at Scrapfit

So the latest challenge is up at Southern Girls, it's called Chippie Heaven. What a fun easy challenge, cause I know all of you have some chipboard lying around. I used quite a lot of it on my layout, the 3 tags are all chipboard, the sayings on the tags are chipboard, and the butterflies and big circle are Basic Grey Chip Stickers from the Origins range.

As I type this my layout does not yet appear on the Southern Girls Challenge Blog, hopefully that will be rectified soon!! This is my last layout as a DT member for the Southern Girls Blog, it's been a fun 6 months.

When I was putting my page together, I made sure to incorporate some doodling on my layout, and this was in the form of the 3 different scalloped stamps used on the tags. These are Hero Arts stamps, and I use these often. I wanted to play along with Challenge # 30 over at ScrapFIT. I love playing along there, cause their DT girls are awesome at leaving comments, and you know we all love comments!!! :)

I also tried to incorporate the Ombre trend, which is one of the trends we are learning about in the Trendspotting class, it's been loads of fun so far!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog again today, hope you have been having a wonderful week so far. I have the day off work tomorrow to go and watch the boys' athletics day!! :)

Sketch # 87 is up at Sketches in Thyme!!

Hello friends. Just wanted to let you know that the latest sketch challenge is up at Sketches in Thyme. I really had fun putting this page together, it's a goofy photo I took of my son Bryce and his friends while we were up in Bloemfontein. I also spent some time editing the photo in Photoshop.

Here it is:

I used the Awesome Collection from Simple Stories for this layout. It is GORGEOUS for boy pages, and I bought it at Scrapbook Studio, just LOVE shopping there!!!

Here is the lovely sketch, it's simple and easy to use, so I hope we get lots of you lovely ladies playing along with us on this one!!!

When you are done, link it at the Sketches in Thyme blog, I am really looking forward to seeing your creations!!! It's a long weekend here in South Africa. Bliss!!!!

I remember

I should have scrapped this special photo ages ago!!!! When I saw Challenge # 73 - "I remember" over at ScrapFIT I immediately thought of this photo of me, my Mom and grandparents taken in 2001. Poppy passed away in 2002, and I miss him every day. My sweet Gran who is 82 has really not been well the last year or so, and it breaks my heart. They both did so so much for us as kids growing up. My Mom was a single parent, and they picked up a lot of the slack. Poppy taught me how to drive, and he gave me away at my wedding. They were/are very special grandparents, and I hope to be able to be as great a grandparent to my own grandkids one day!!!

I also signed up for my first class, it's called Trendspotting, and is being hosted by Lisa Truesdell and Kelly Noel over at Studio Calico. I must say I totally love both of these ladies styles of scrapping so I was super excited when I saw they were hosting a class together. I used a few techniques that are going to be taught in this class. With the class you get a bunch of gorgeous cut files, the banner and triangles are both from the class!!

I hope you all have a wonderful week. It's going to be a great one for us in the Sharp household. It's a nice short week, and we are visiting family down the coast!! :)

A birthday layout!!

It's been a bit quiet on the blogging front. What with the Olympics being on, and me with a bout of flu, I haven't spent too much time blogging. We here in South Africa are so proud of our 2 men swimmers that have won gold medals. What amazing achievements!!!!! Proudly South African!!!

I am still loving playing with my Silhouette, and for my birthday layout I cut various items to use on my page. I used the latest Creative Scrappers sketch. I know I was only supposed to use 2 photos, but I had to use these 3 special photos which were the most important parts of my birthday!!!!

I used mostly Studio Calico papers on this page as well as 2 different colors of Mister Huey's Mists. LOVE them so much. The buttons and pocketwatch embellies are by Enmarc Crafts, a lovely South African Company. You can find their Ning site HERE

This is the latest Creative Scrappers Sketch:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I hope you enjoyed your time here :) Thanks so much for leaving a comment, if you do ;)
