Sketch # 8 at Scrap Africa

Hi all. How spectacular was that Opening Ceremony last night!!!! I absolutely loved every moment of it. Me and my bigger boys managed to stay up until midnight, and I recorded the rest and watched it this morning. I can't wait for the actual sport to begin :)

So there was a slight mix-up and our latest sketch at Scrap Africa was posted a week early. So hence me not getting it up on Thursday ;)

I TOTALLY love the photo I used for this sketch!!! It's of Caide and his 2 fellow team mates that made the Inlands B team. Don't they all look so handsome!!

And here is the lovely sketch YOU get to play with too!! :)

So, while you are watching some Olympic sport, why don't you put together a layout for this lovely challenge??? Please stop by the Scrap Africa Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the awesome DT girls, and for deets on the prize up for grabs!!

See you soon peeps :) Love comments, so please leave one xxxx

A FO, and lovely crafty gift from a special friend!!

It's a gorgeous Friday morning here in Dundee, the sun is shining and it's crisp but warmish outside. I am so blessed!!!

Today I am going to share a recent FO with you, it was a test knit for my knitting friend Carle, she is the genius behind Nurturing Fibres yarn. The pattern is called Sunny Days Shawlette, and it is available for purchase HERE on Ravelry!! It took me longer to finish than it should have, because my knitting mojo totally abandoned me during the process, but once I knuckled down and sat and knit on it for a good couple of hours, it was done, and I am overjoyed with the end result. It is a stunning shawl, and it really is an eye-catching item when worn!! Carle specially dyed the orange yarn for me, so I can wear this with my orange Mary-Janes!!!

I am linking up with Linda's Creative Friday was well as FO Fridays!!

And while I am busy here, I would like to share an item that was made for me by my special friend Sharon, from Sharon's Kardz Korner. Sharon and I have met on-line years ago, when we were on the same DT, and we have been friends ever since. She is one talented gal!!!

She really spoilt me don't you think. I am going to use this lovely notebook all the time, and will think of Sharon every time I use it!!

I am casting on for a new item tonight. I am part of the RSA team over at Ravelry, and the Ravellenics are a huge deal where ladies all over the world cast on during the start of the Olympics. It is going to be fun. I am so looking forward to the Opening Ceremony tonight, pity it's so late, hope I can stay awake!!

Have a great weekend my crafty friends xxxx

A day in the sun....

I am still playing myself silly with my Silhouette, it is fantastic what this machine can do!!!!

So while I am in the zone, I decided to create a page for the July sketch over at My Creative Sketches, I thought it was perfect for a series of pool photos I took of my hubby and boys in February this year.

I absolutely LOVE these photos, and can't believe it's taken me so long to scrap them!!! The title, stars and "so cool" speech bubble were all cut with my Silhouette. I used Water Cooler & Powder Blue Mister Huey's Color Mists as well as some Studio Calico patterned paper on my layout, as well as the lovely word stamp which you can see in the right hand corner of the bottom photo. It is from the Ali Edwards "Family Circle" set of stamps. These products were all bought from SCRAPBOOK STUDIO.

Here is the sketch that my layout was based on:

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog again today. I just wanted to say "thank-you" so much for any comments that may be left on my blog, I really do appreciate them so so much. Enjoy the rest of your today, it's a gorgeous one in our neck of the woods :)

My first layout using my Silhouette Cameo!!! :)

Oh wow, I have gotta say I am in LOOOOVVVVEEE with this machine, it is amazing. The sky is the limit for my scrapping now!! I had so much fun playing with my new toy yesterday, just learning to use it and cutting lots of lovely shapes and words. It is awesome, and I am super chuffed with it :)

So I decided to use the latest Sketchabilities sketch to create a page, using elements cut with the Silhouette.

Aren't these photos of my two youngest just too sweet for words??? I also used some Enmarc Crafts embellies and paper on my page so I can play along at their Ning site, which can be found HERE

So, just a short but sweet post from me today, I am off to play some more!!! :)

Challenge # 7 - About a Boy at Scrap Africa

Sorry, I am a bit late in getting the latest Scrap Africa post up here on my blog!!!!

Here are all the details:

Challenge # 7 is dedicated to the wonderful men in our lives - big or small.
Make any scrap object dedicated to a man or a boy.
The catch is that it must have a phrase on it: it can be your own words or a quote but it must tell what is so special about that person to whom you dedicate your project.
Pinned Image

Here is my page :

This is my youngest, Jamie, getting his first professional haircut, as you can see from the look on his face he felt VERY important!! Too sweet :)

Here is the picture that was used for the color inspiration challenge.

A 2Peas Challenge

I spent some time playing yesterday afternoon, it was fun. I decided to create a page based on gluestickgirl's challenge over at 2Peas, to create a grid based layout. Easy peasy challenge, and considering I am a huge fan of her's I really wanted to play along, check out Lisa's blog HERE.

This layout is about my FIL's new love, my MIL passed away just over a year ago, and this new gal is what is keeping him busy now.

Most of the product I have used on my layout is from the Generations range by Simple Stories. I also used my lovely Opaque White Mister Huey's color mist, all which was bought from the Scrapbook Studio, my favorite place to shop :)

I have also recently discovered the Studio Calico's Member Gallery and am finding great inspiration there, so I am super excited to be able to post my first layout there!!

Also just wanted to let you know that my "Hugs and Kisses" layout is being featured HERE today, makes me happy!!

I hope you are all keeping well, we are in for some some cold and hopefully wet weather this weekend (things are so dry here!!), which will be perfect crafting weather.

Keep well, crafting hugs

June Sketches at My Creative Sketches

Morning from a chilly Dundee. It is lovely Sunday, relaxing at home, eating nice food, crafting kind of weather!! :)

So today I am going to share a layout with you that I created from the June sketch at My Creative Sketches. I must confess, I haven't been this passionate about my scrapping in a long long time, and I am churning out the pages at a rate of knots!!

These photos are taken from when my family visited for the Easter weekend earlier this year.

Most of the product I used on my page is from the "Hello Lucicious" range from Basic Grey.

And here is the sketch that I based my layout on:

This is the first time I am playing along at My Creative Sketches, but I certainly don't think it will be my last, their DT creates stunning layouts!!

And to end off, I just want to share my latest purchase from Scrapbook Studio, I must confess, I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this new product, and I plan to buy another 6 new colours for my birthday!!

I own 2 other brand of mists, and I have got to say, this is by far a better brand of mist, it sprays on beautifully, and the colours are full and rich on your page! I have already used the white and red on two new layouts, go and get yours HERE, now!! :) Just wait for me to buy mine first, O.K ;)

Enjoy what is left of your weekend, and last week of school holidays for those in S.A.
