Sjoe it's been a hectic few days in the Sharp household!! What with getting Caide all packed up and ready to go back to boarding school, getting Jamie ready for Grade 1 and Bryce ready for his last year of Primary School, I must confess to being rather knackered! Roll on weekend!!

So....just a quick post to share the latest SCRAP AFRICA challenge with you. It's a fabulous challenge, one I know you will all have fun with......RECYCLE!!

You need to use at least one recycled item on your project. Create a card, layout or altered piece, that has a recycled item and please tell us what that item is.

Here is the layout I created for this challenge. I used a clothing tag for my recycled item!

Design Team Challenge at LET'S SCRAP

Hi Ladies. Hope you are having an wonderful weekend so far!! I was asked by the lovely Jeaunes if I wanted to play along with a Design Team challenge over at Let's Scrap, and I said "of course", I was on the team there for 2 terms and always enjoyed my time spent with a bunch of super sweet gals!!

The challenge is:
You can use a photo of yourself, or something (not another person though) that is super important to you.  This can be coffee, diet pop, gardening, crafting - something that represents YOU!!  You can use any sketch from Let's Sketch.

I was excited when I saw the brief for this challenge, and I decided to do a layout about one of my hobbies that has become very important to me, my sewing!!

I used my Silhouette lots on this layout, it is such an awesome machine (especially when it has a new blade in it!!) The pretty papers are by Prima - Anna Marie Range and the hearts are by Little Yellow Bicycle.

I used the left hand side of this LET'S SCRAP sketch:

Why not stop by LET'S SCRAP and play along with us, they always have GREAT prizes up for grabs! Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps :)

Challenge no.22 - Resist Effect

Hi ladies, I am back to share our latest SCRAP AFRICA challenge with you!!

The challenge today is all about resisting, whether you use embossing, crayons, glue, gesso or any medium that resists paint, inks etc.

This was a fun challenge, and I really enjoyed putting my page together for it!!

For my RESIST effect I used a stamp by AnnaBelle Stamps, embossed it with white (heated it in my toaster, I really need to get an embossing gun), and then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in the color Peeled Paint to ink over the embossing. It reminds me a bit of a grass stain, which Caide got lots of while playing rugby!!

So we have a lovely prize up for grabs for one randomly selected participant in this challenge:

You have until the 31st of October to put together your creeation for this challenge.

Please take the time to stop by the SCRAP AFRICA blog, our DT girls have really put together some S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G creations for this challenge!!!

Have a great day and week ahead :)

A day in the sun....

I am still playing myself silly with my Silhouette, it is fantastic what this machine can do!!!!

So while I am in the zone, I decided to create a page for the July sketch over at My Creative Sketches, I thought it was perfect for a series of pool photos I took of my hubby and boys in February this year.

I absolutely LOVE these photos, and can't believe it's taken me so long to scrap them!!! The title, stars and "so cool" speech bubble were all cut with my Silhouette. I used Water Cooler & Powder Blue Mister Huey's Color Mists as well as some Studio Calico patterned paper on my layout, as well as the lovely word stamp which you can see in the right hand corner of the bottom photo. It is from the Ali Edwards "Family Circle" set of stamps. These products were all bought from SCRAPBOOK STUDIO.

Here is the sketch that my layout was based on:

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog again today. I just wanted to say "thank-you" so much for any comments that may be left on my blog, I really do appreciate them so so much. Enjoy the rest of your today, it's a gorgeous one in our neck of the woods :)
