Some Simon Says Goodness

My parcel arrived from Simon Says today, and I am over the moon!! The stamp set (which is exclusive to Simon Says) is so cute. I chose the "Woodland Creatures" set to work with, and these little critters are adorable, and I am going to be able to make such nice things with them. The little owl and raccoon are too dear, and there is also a little bunny in the pack that I will be able to use for Easter cards.

Thanks to Heidi and Heather for the other goodies included. I have always wanted some Hero Arts note cards, and they are as nice as I would have imagined them to be! I have never used Tim Holtz distress ink before, so I am going to have fun playing with that. Any guesses what I am going to be doing tonight??

Please go and check the Simon Says blog and shop out (just click on the cute Simon logo in the sidebar), they really do have the most amazing products in their shop, and for us international customers they have excellent prices on their postage, which is always a plus!

I will hopefully post some of my new creations soon, so don't forget to check back!

Look at this Lovely Texture!

This is the knitting project I started in December. I have put it on hold for now, purely because it is going to still be quite a few months before I can wear it. So for now I am trying to make some more summery knits, which I can wear now. I have finished my Gilmore Vest, but have not had time to take any photos yet. Hopefully I can rope hubby in to take some this weekend.

This project that I am showing you today is one from the UK publication "The Art of Knitting" and it is from 26th issue. It is such a nice pattern to knit, and I am really enjoying it. I am using a South African yarn called "Pure Gold", it is so nice and smooth to knit with.

It has been raining all day here today. Total Bliss!! I am busy knitting a pink, sleeveless top and am almost finished the back. I am just loving my knitting right now!

1st Day of School!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get these photos up, Mom! Here they are though, and I think they are worth the wait! Don't the boys look too cute, eager if not a touch nervous!

A Happy Hello to You!

Hi All.

Today was quite a hectic one, the boys went back to school today. And not only was it back to school, but it was a new school too! So the boys were very nervous this morning, but more about that tomorrow, and I will post some pics as well. My Mom is dying to see how they look in their new uniforms.

Today I am posting some cards I made with my Hero Arts birds stamps. I LOVE these stamps, the birdies are just too cute, and so much fun to colour. I loved working with pink for these cards, it's something I don't do too often.

Been busy knitting too, so will hopefully post some photos of my WIP.

Hugs.

Christmas Gift Thank-You Cards

Sorry, I said I would post this photo yesterday, but I didn't! Better late than never I suppose.

This is the card I made for all my family members to say "thank-you" for all the lovely Christmas presents we received. The cards were quick & easy and simple, and great fun to put together. All the stamps used are by Hero Arts (part of my Christmas gift stash) and the slider die-cut is by Cuttlebug.

Can't believe the boys have only got 2 days of holiday left, the time has absolutely flown! This is a photo I took of 2 of my gorgeous boys yesterday. Jamie decided he wanted to "cheese" so of course I jumped at the opportunity!

Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Baby Beanies

Hello All.

Wow we had nearly 40mm of rain last night, it was gorgeous! I am really enjoying the cooler weather, hope it lasts. I see in the USA they are having lots of snow, wonder if it is as nice to live with, as it looks in all the photos you see in people's blogs?!?

Today my gorgeous little boy is modeling 2 beanies I have made for him. The blue one is one I made for him last winter. I remember finishing it, and thinking how clever I was! This winter I will be tackling much more advanced patterns! I finished the cream one just before Christmas. I made it a few rows longer, so it is a bit bigger for him, I am sure he will grow into it, it is still a few months before he will be able to start wearing it. Thankfully he loves hats, so I don't have a problem keeping them on him.

Tomorrow I will post a photo of the thank-you cards I made for my family. Til then!

I started this project this morning

This is what I started this morning. I recently joined a website called Ravelry, it's a knitting site, and it is amazing!! There are so many patterns available, and so many inspirational ladies there. This is a pattern I found yesterday, and started it at about 7am this morning!

It's a rainy miserable day today, just like I ordered, so it is going to be perfect for doing some knitting. As a bonus I have a 20/20 cricket match between South Africa & Australia to watch. Perfect!! If you are not aware, I am a HUGE sports fan, and just love watching rugby, cricket, tennis and athletics on t.v.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. Hope today drags!

Look what I made today.

Did some baking this afternoon, had some really ripe bananas that I had to do something with. My kids love it when I bake (which isn't very often mind you! I am not as competent a baker as I am with the rest of my crafts!), and fortunately this loaf came out quite nicely. It isn't the most picturesque of banana breads, but it tastes delish!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. We have an 80% chance of heavy rain for tomorrow, so hold thumbs that we have a nice miserable wet day!

This is what I have been doing a lot of lately!!

This is a photo taken of me and my sis, sitting & knitting, in our p.j's! I have always loved knitting, but it used to be something I would do exclusively in winter. There is nothing better than pulling out your needles and creating something warm and cosy for the chilly weather! But the bug has bitten again, smack in the middle of our hideously hot summer. I am trying to challenge myself a bit more now, I used to knit lots of scarves, but I have a lovely pattern for a cardi type jersey with a lace pattern, and so far so good. I have taken some photos, but am having a bit of a problem uploading them. So hopefully soon.

Today I am going to post 2 photos of the little notebooks I made for my family as extras for Christmas. They all seemed to like them, hopefully they will be used. The stamp I used is one by Hero Arts, and I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper.

Hope you are having a great week. Wow, it is so hot here, I just want to die! Roll on winter I say. Much better for all my crafting!

I am SO Excited!!

When I opened my e-mail this morning I got such a nice surprise!! I have been chosen to be on the Simon Says Company's Winter 2009 design team!! I hadn't heard back from them for an age, so had completely forgotten about it, so it really was a surprise.

They have such nice stamps, and I am going to so enjoy working with them. Can't wait for my parcel to arrive to get started.

If you would like to check out their site, the address is http://www.simonsaysstamp.com

I have been really slack about updating my blog, over this holiday period, but promise to post regularily from now on.

Speak to you soon!
