Sketch Challenge no.16 @ SCRAP AFRICA

Hello, if I do happen to still have some blog readers left, welcome back. I really am sad that my poor blog has been so neglected of late, but my life really has taken a 360 degree turn because my Mom and very elderly & frail Gran have moved in with us. Needless to say my crafting time has been almost non existent!!

I am RATHER late in getting this post up, but here it is!!!! My layout for the latest SCRAP AFRICA sketch challenge!!!!

(Sorry about the rather poor quality of photos I used here, I am really battling to find the best way to photograph my layouts!!)

Here is the fun sketch we got to play with for this challenge!!

Please stop by the SCRAP AFRICA blog for details of the prize up for grabs as well as inspiration from the rest of the fabby SCRAP AFRICA team!!!! You have until the 14th of April to submit your layout!

The new card sketch at Let's Scrap

Hi everyone.

I start this post with the absolutely fantastic news that I made the DT for the next term over at Let's Scrap!!!!! I have been so inspired since being on the team there. It is an exceptionally well run site, and everyone is so friendly, I LOVE IT!!!

So it's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, so that means the sketch this week is for a card. Debby did an outstanding job with this sketch, don't you think!?!?

HERE IS MY CARD:

It's a little different to my usual cards, but I still had fun putting it together, and I still got to use my beloved Copics.

The banner stamp is a favourite of mine and is by Hero Arts and the sentiment is by AnnaBelle Stamps.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I am getting so excited, I ordered loads of yummy crafting "stuff" for myself which hubby wrapped for me last night. I have also taken the day of work, so I get to stay at home and PLAY. Can't wait!!

Another Lift an Odd Girl Card

O.K, so I have become a bit obsessed with these gorgeous Odd Girl Stamps, they just appeal to my sense of style in cardmaking, and I am loving colouring these little beauties....so as a result I have decided to make ANOTHER card for their latest challenge.

For this card I decided to lift a card created by DT girl Robin. Here is her card:

AND HERE IS MINE:

These are the Copics I used for my card. I have recently labeled my Ciao's, and I am loving how nice they look, and how easy it is to find the one's I am needing now!

I used the adorable "Roller Mae" on my card, she can be purchased HERE. The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

I am once again entering this card in the following challenges:

~ Some Odd Girl - Lift an Odd Girl
~ DYSU Challenge Blog - Sewing
~ Moving Along with the Times - Favourite Things (Copics, Making Memories & Some Odd Girl Stamps!)
~ Totally PaperCrafts Challenge - Girly Girl
~ wee Memories - CAS

I am off to watch the Sharks rugby game, enjoy the rest of your evening :)

My First Challenge over at SCS!

Just a quick post in-between cooking supper and all the other evening chores. I wanted to do a quick post to show you the card I made this afternoon to take part in my first challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers.

It is the Wednesday Sketch Challenge, here is the sketch , No. SC303:

I used the gorgeous Lil Michelle image from Annabelle Stamps on my card, I adore this image!! I also used my new Hero Arts stamp for the background. It is the stamp CG197 Old Letter, I stamped it with Opaque Vanilla Embossing Powder from Annabelle Stamps and then inked it in the way I learned from the Holiday Thinking Inking class with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in the colour Tattered Rose. I only got this Hero Arts stamp today as well as the Distress Ink, so I had to incorporate it on my card :)

My card also happens to qualify for the challenge over at wee Memories! They are having a wonderful giveaway with this challenge, a ScorPal, I would LOVE to win one of those!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Be sure to come back tomorrow for Annabelle Stamps next fun challenge! :)

Holiday Thinking Inking Week 3 Christmas Card

Morning. Just a quick post before I rush out the door to take Jamie to swimming lessons!!

Today I am going to share a card I made based on Jennifer McGuire's 3rd week of Holiday Thinking Inking Classes over at 2Peas. I am thoroughly enjoying this stamping course!!

So here is my card. Totally different to my usual style, but LOVED putting this together!!

I used the Hero Arts Bird Trio set of stamps for the images. The sentiment I used is from the "Jewelled Tree" stamp set by Annabelle Stamps, and the embossing powder is also by Annabelle Stamps. The snow flakes were cut out using a Cuttlebug die, and I found an old French book in our 2nd hand book shop yesterday, and used that for the paper that the birds were inked on. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink for colouring the book page and for inking the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember to stop by on Friday for Annabelle Stamps next fun challenge!

A new sketch at Scrapbook Challenges

It's Monday which means Pamela will be posting a new sketch over at Scrapbook Challenges. It's another fab one I must say, and made me think a bit outside my box. I NEVER cut my photos into circles! Must say it made a nice change and this layout was perfect for the page I had in mind!! I had these photos of Ray I wanted to scrap, and I love the male and quite edgy feel my page has! Anyway, here is the sketch:

SKETCH 201:

And here is my page:

The journaling on this page reads ~ In your line of work you are not able to wear a wedding band, so in a wonderfully romantic gesture you got a band tattooed on your finger for our 12th wedding anniversary. I love you more today than I did 12 years ago, and am so touched that, despite your fear of needles you did this for me!

The title & arrows were cut with my Slice. I ran the lettering through my Cuttlebug, and the stars & circle stamps are by Hero Arts. I also used one of my lovely EK Success border punches.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my page. Why not drop by Scrapbook Challenges to see what it's all about!

It is a page I put together of my hubby when he was a young boy, and the photos are of him in his cute little swimming trunks, camping at the dam! All the stamps I used on this layout are by Hero Arts.

Here is my layout:
