Card Set for my Gran.

Hello all.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. Saturday passed in a flash for me. We went to a friends house to watch the rugby, and had a lovely breakfast brunch. What a disappointment the rugby was. The Sharks played so badly, almost the complete opposite team to the one who played so well last weekend. Oh well...

Today I am going to load pics of the cards I have made for my gran for her birthday. My gran is the dearest person in the world, but is really difficult to buy presents for. She doesn't really need anything, so when I thought of this idea I was so chuffed! She really loves to send cards to people, but being a pensioner, its an expense she can't really afford. Greeting cards are very expensive here in SA!

I made her 4 different cards. Three of each, so hopefully that will keep her going for a while. Now I just need to find a nice way to package them. Any suggestions would be great!

Enjoy what is left of the weekend!

A Card for Caide's Teacher

Just a quick post today, I am off to Newcastle just now to take my 2 oldest boys to a hockey tournament. Things really seem to be quite hectic at the moment!!

We are due to move into our new house at the end of June, so lots of packing going on aswell. My house is in a state, with boxes all over the place. It looks terrible, but I suppose its one of those things!! Really looking forward to moving into our new place, it is going to be great.

The card I am sharing today is one which I made for my oldest son's teacher. She has gone to Australia to visit her sister for 2 weeks. I lifted the idea from the very talented Amy Sheffer. Had to use my new Cuttlebug!!

Next time I will load the set of cards I have made for my Gran's birthday.

Enjoy your day!

I've got a Cuttlebug!!

It was recently our 10 year wedding anniversary, and my sweet husband bought me a Cuttlebug. Not very romantic I know, but its what I wanted, so I am so chuffed. I had seen all the amazing cards made with this machine, and just thought they looked fantastic. And of course if you have spent any time on Jennifer McGuire's site, she has raved about it, so I had to have it!! It is quite expensive here in South Africa, R950.00 for the machine and about R52.00 for an embossing folder. I got 8 of those so I have got a nice extensive range. I also got a few die cuts, definitely want more of those.

So as a result, most of my cards that I have made recently have embossing on them. I just love the texture it gives the cards. Yesterday I went and bought some embossing powder so I want to try and play with that. I loved how Jennifer McGuire used it recently on one of her son's lo's.

This is one of the first cards I created using my Cuttlebug. The stamp I used is one by a South African company called Great Impressions No. D1336. I coloured it in using coloured pencils and blended it with a big of turps (need to get a less toxic blending agent!!).

Does anyone know where we can get the Hanna range of stamps here in South Africa. I would love to get my hands on some of them, they are just too gorgeous and so much fun. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Anyway, must be off. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

What I hope to acheive

I have recently discovered the amazing hobby, stamping and card making. And as I do with most things in life, I have grabbed it with both hands and want to run with it. Very fast & furiously!! I have spent hours on-line finding blogs of other amazing ladies who stamp, and wow, it has been really inspirational. I would like to try and do the same thing with my blog, but differently of course, because I don't have access to all the amazing stamps and products that the overseas ladies do. I want to try and create a South African based stamping site, where South African ladies can (hopefully), gain a bit of inspiration from me, and I can make friends with local ladies who stamp.

My dream would be to be chosen to be on a design team, but I think I am getting ahead of myself!

I'll start by posting the Mothers Day cards I made for my sister, gran & aunt. The flowers were stamped using the Hero Arts "Fashion Blooms" stamps. I used a polka dot trim, which I downloaded from the 2 Peas site and did a bit of embossing on each.

I will try and work on my blog a bit more over the weekend. See you soon

Woohoo! I have a blog.

I have finally caught up with everyone else, and am trying to create my own blog. Still very new to this, so have a lot to learn. Hopefully my sister Lauren, who works in this field, will be able to help me out.
