Project Life ~ 12 April - 18 April

Welcome back to my blog today. It's Tuesday which means it's time to post my past weeks Project Life photos. Still not missed a day!!

Monday:
12 April:
My 2 bigger boys had a ball pushing Jamie around in the little wheel barrow. Jamie of course thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!! I love how they play with him even though they are so much older than him. I am very grateful for that.


Tuesday:
13 April:
On any given evening this is what you can find on my bedside table. I love to have some quiet time sitting on my bed, knitting and watching some t.v. Of course I have to have a cup of tea! I put hand cream on just before I go to sleep, and I must have my magazines there too. 25 Beautiful Homes and Country Homes and Interiors are 2 of my favourites.


Wednesday:
14 April:
The garden looked gorgeous this morning. It was all hazy and misty, and looked just like a picture from a book. We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful house, and to have such a big garden for the kids to play in.


Thursday:
15 April:
I have a confession to make. I have a thing for baby shoes!! They are just too cute for words. I have to force myself from the kiddies shoe section in Woolworths, because I could quite happily buy pair after pair. I couldn't resist buying Jamie a new pair of Crocs though. His last pair he wore until they nearly fell apart. When I bought these home he was so excited. So cute on his little feet don't you think?!?


Friday:
16 April:
This afternoon Ray set off to Mighty Men, a conference held for Christian men. They were expecting 400,000 men to descend on Greytown to attend this life changing event. This is the third time Ray is attending. When he attended his first Mighty Men it changed his life in such a positive way, and I am so grateful for that!


Saturday:
17 April:
Today Nadia came and spent the day with us. She is such a delightful little girl, and reminds me a lot of myself as a little girl. Competitive, sporty and a bit of a tomboy. She is brimming over with confidence. I helped her to put a scrapbook page together with this photo, and according to her Mom she had a wonderful day, and couldn't stop talking about her time with us!


Sunday:
18 April:
This morning before Ray came home the 4 of us played "hide and seek". It was so much fun. I especially like looking for Jamie when he hides away. He just doesn't know how to be quiet, and of course the cutest thing is... he thinks if he covers his eyes I won't be able to see him!!

A new layout - Sketch 193 at Scrapbook Challenges

Hi all. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. My hubby was away at Mighty Men this weekend, a conference for Christian men, so it was a bit of a different weekend for me. He doesn't go away very often!! It turned out to be a really nice relaxing and quiet weekend, the boys were on their best behaviour, and I got in lots of scrapping time!! Today I thought I would post a layout I did last week based on Sketch 193 over at Scrapbook Challenges. This is the most awesome site for scrapbookers, go on over and have a look. It has the most fantastic sketches which are posted every Monday, and it certainly has sparked my scrapping creativity back into action!!

Say it in .... pink & brown

Morning all. Very bright and early here in South African this morning. 4:30am to be precise!! Unfortunately if I wake fairly close to the time I am due to wake up my mind gets active and then I can't go back to sleep. I really need to work on this issue. LOL!!

So today we at Annabelle Stamps are creating cards with a pink & brown colour scheme. This is such a pretty combination!! My card is slightly different to others I have made in the past, but I am fairly happy with it. I based it on this week's sketch over at Mojo Monday.

I actually scrapbooked last night which was quite something, I usually don't scrap at night. I also really enjoyed putting this layout together and am so enjoying the inspiration I am gaining from a new site I have joined called Scrapbook Challenges. I am having a ball getting involved there!!

Project Life ~ 5 April - 11 April

It's that time of the week again, Tuesday always seems to roll around quite quickly. Luckily with me taking a photo a day, I can remember something special about what happened on each day that whizzes by!! Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoy taking the time to look at my photos.

Monday:
5 April:
I had my sister Lauren here over the Easter weekend and she gave me a lovely long lesson on Photoshop. On Monday I spent a good portion of the day playing with my photos, improving the quality and changing the look of the photos with the Actions that I had downloaded. I love being able to do this.


Tuesday:
6 April:
While I sit at my scrap desk Jamie sometimes gets his colouring book and colours in on the floor next to me. On this day I had to colour in with him!! I love this photo and the angle that I managed to take the shot from. Hopefully he has a bit of his Mom's creative genes!


Wednesday:
7 April:
Today Jamie was playing on the box in the lounge with a stick and a tennis ball, and he was playing pool. Don't know where he learnt to do that!! He really is so good at amusing himself and comes up with the funniest little games. I took some photos of him playing and then managed to get him to "pose" for me. I LOVE this shot!!


Thursday:
8 April:
The Soccer World cup is just around the corner, and we are all trying to get into the spirit. Ray bought the boys these supporters wrist bands and they love to wear them! Go Bafana Bafana!


Friday:
9 April:
I have even gotten in on the action, and bought myself a supporters shirt. I wore it to work today for Casual Friday. It was actually quite fun to wear because people looked at me a lot when I went to the bank today. It's good to try and be positive with all the anger and tension that is going on around us in our country at the moment!


Saturday:
10 April:
Every Saturday morning Ray takes the boys into town to do the shopping for the weekend. I LOVE that he does this. It means that I get an hour of quiet time to potter around the house or to spend some time crafting. Unfortunately that hour normally passes in a flash!!


Sunday:
11 April:
So far in our Project Life album I haven't got a photo of Ray and I together. So... on our way to church this morning I asked Caide to take a photo of us. I am so blessed to be married to such an awesome man who does so much for me and the boys. I love you babe!

Another layout for Scrap & Stamp

Wow, I am loving having my mojo back, I have been scrapbooking like a mad woman!! It is great though, because I have gotten a bit behind on my boy's pages, so I am catching up nicely now.

The challenge over at Scrap & Stamp this week is to follow a sketch (which is an awesome sketch by the way), and of course to use stamping on your layout. I used my Hero Arts Star stamps, which worked perfectly with the space themed paper I used on my layout. I also added some yummy Pumpkin Sprinkles for a bit of bling. I am also submitting this layout for the challenge over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge, where you need to add buttons to your crafting creation. Here is the sketch I based my layout on:

Another Sporty Layout for Scrap & Stamp

2 Posts in one day, yahoo!! I just happened to finish another sporty layout, which I had to take a photo of, so I thought why not enter 2 layouts for the challenge over at Scrap & Stamp.

So here it is:


In January I and my 2 oldest boys swam the Chelmsford Challenge. Caide and I swam the 1km event and Bryce swam the 500m event. This is Bryce's layout.

New Bling Sketch Challenge - ABSC019

Hi all. It was lovely to have a short work week this week!! So...that means it's time for a new Bling Sketch Challenge over at Annabelle Stamps. This challenge runs for 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to take part. It's a wonderful sketch to work with, so give it a go!!

Here is the fun sketch we had to work with. This is quite different to any sketch that I have worked with before, but I had so much fun putting this one together. And what was even more fun was getting to play with all my new Annabelle goodies!!

The flower stamp I used on this card is one from the "Floral Stems" set. I have never been a big embosser, but part of the package I received was a tub of Opaque Vanilla embossing powder (also available from Annabelle Stamps), and I love the look it created on this card. A sporty challenge....at Scrap & Stamp

Hello all. Hope you have had a wonderful day. Mine has been busy and full and quite hot, I wish winter would get here already!!

Today I am going to post a layout which qualifies for the weekly challenge over at Scrap & Stamp. It's a sporty or outdoor activity layout. Mine is a bit of both, my boys take their outdoor activities very seriously, just like they do with their sport!! I used a lot of stamping on this layout, the background is a lovely Hero Arts background stamp, and I also stamped the title. Here is it:

Project Life ~ 29 March - 4 April

Hi everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend. I had a lovely weekend, spent lots of quality time with my Mom, Trev & sister, and ate way too much food. What did you get up to?? Whatever you did, I hope it was good.

Thanks for joining me again here this week. I have been spending a lot of time learning more about Photoshop, I have learnt more about Actions, and with the help of my graphic designer sister Lauren, have learnt to do a lot more things. So... if you notice a difference in my photos, that's why! Hope you enjoy your time here.

Monday:
29 March:
When I got back from work today I wanted to make the boys lunch, they wanted to go riding with their mates!! I told them I wouldn't be making food later, so they would have to sort themselves out. This is just what Caide did! I love that he is getting more independent, and wow, he makes a mean cheese & chutney sandwich!


Tuesday:
30 March:
In the colder months I like to make my hair a bit darker, it makes me feel a bit more warm, and I love the richness of it. So yesterday, I went and had a bit of a pamper, and had my hair cut & coloured. I am really happy with it. Bryce took this photo for me.


Wednesday:
31 March:
Today was a wet & gloomy day. It was lovely!! I love weather like this. So in the afternoon I let the boys play on the computer. They love to play Age of Empires which is a strategy game. They certainly have their Dad's genes when it comes to computers!


Thursday:
1 April:
Today I received my parcel from Annabelle Stamps. This is the company I do Design Team work for (which I love!!). I adore getting goodies in the post, and today I certainly wasn't disappointed. It's always nice to get your creative juices flowing with new products!


Friday:
2 April:
Mom, Trev & Lauren arrived today to spend the Easter weekend with us. I love it when the family visits us here in Dundee. Of course the boys LOVE their Gran, and I was so happy to be able to capture this photo of Jamie fast asleep on his Granny's lap. Pure contentment!


Saturday:
3 April:
I love this photo of us all goofing around in front of the mirror. I love my funny little family to death!!


Sunday:
4 April:
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. They boy's had a fun egg hunt (the first in this wonderful garden), and each found a nice big stash of eggs. We had Hot Cross Buns for morning tea, and then Ray cooked us 2 nice chickens on the Webber which we had with potato bake and roasted veggies. It was a lovely relaxing day, and it was wonderful to spend time together.

Say it with....Flowers

Morning everyone. Bright and early here in South Africa, 4:36am to be precise. My little one woke me up early AGAIN! To be quite honest, I don't even know what it is to sleep in!! But the up side is I can update my blog nice and early (even though my fellow Australian DT members are all ahead of me in time!).

As you can gather from my title, the theme we are working with over at Annabelle Stamps this week is Flowers. Being here in SA, I didn't receive my lovely parcel containing all the new products that Andrea has added to her shop in time, so I have made do with some of my older Annabelle things. But, I have added some lovely flowers to my card! Do you want a little peak of some of the wonderful new products Andrea now has on sale??? Do ya, do ya?? Well ok then, here goes:

So, should we move on with my card. I didn't realise that red was such a hard colour to photograph, so I really am not too pleased with the way my card looks in the photo's, it looks a lot better IRL. Anyway... here it is:




The stamp I used is from the "Jasmine's Cupcake" set, and I haven't used her in ages, so I thought it was high time! The sentiment is from the "I can fly" set. I added some plain white flowers which I coloured with my Copics to match my ribbon. This is the first time I have done this, and what fun it was. Andrea has white flowers, and Copics for sale, so you can do this too! The lovely bling in the centre of the flowers is also from Annabelle Stamps. They are just gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous, I had to take a photo of all my Sprinkles, I ordered 5 new tubs from Andrea, and have stacked them all up, and they now have pride of place on my desk. LOVE my Sprinkles!!
