My new owl from Stamp 'n Stuff

Hi All.

Good Tuesday morning! Hope everyone's Monday went smoothly, and that the week started off well. I actually had a lovely Monday, I spent some lovely quality time with Jamie, and I was able to be creative. So it was the nicest Monday I have had in a while!

A few posts ago I mentioned that there was an owl from Stamp 'n Stuff that I wanted to put on my wish list, imagine my delight when I opened my birthday parcel and he was in my birthday box. I had forgotten that I had ordered him a few months back.

So on Sunday afternoon, after our ritual Sunday walk, I sat down to spend some time with him. He was such fun to colour, the card came together so easily (isn't it so nice when that happens?!?). I look forward to making many new creations with him in lots of different colours! I mounted him on a black rectangle cut with my new nestabilities. Gosh those things are devine, I think I am going to have to get the whole range. Wishful thinking on my part. LOL!! The sentiment I used is by Hero Arts and I think the pp is Basic Grey. This is the first time I stamped onto ribbon, and I was really pleased with the way it turned out. I used my Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug embossing folder for the cream strip on the side of the card.

So fly on over to Stamp 'n Stuff and check out this cute little owl. He is no. 706G and he can be found under the "Birds" category. He's a steal at R13.50. Click on the Stamp 'n Stuff link on my sidebar, and it will take you right there.

Have a good stamping day! I need to do a scrapbook page for Bryce, and I have to start making 19 recipe cards for a swap at RSA!

Hugs,
Rene'

TECC26 - My first Cupcake Challenge

This is the first card I have ever created for a challenge. It was so much fun, I really must do it again!
I changed the sketch slightly. My image turned out to be a bit bigger than what I thought it would be, so I had to put the sentiment to the sides of the main image, and my bling was placed on the slant of the pp on the top and the bottom of the image. The stamp I used is lovely, I so enjoyed colouring it. It is by a South African company called Great Impressions and it's no. H1273.

Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. Can't believe it's over already!

Yay, yay it's Friday!

Wow, the week has flown! Can't believe it's nearly weekend already. Not that I am complaining though, I am hoping to gets lots of stamping & scrapping done this weekend. Holds thumbs that my plans come to fruition!

The card I am loading today is one that is quite different to my usual style. It's oldie worldly and quite romantic looking. I really enjoyed colouring it, and hope to do some more similar ones in the future.

Maybe I will speak to you over the weekend, if not, hope you have a good one!

A card using my new goodies

Sorry I didn't post my card yesterday, the day just got away from me!!
This is the first card I made after getting home from the coast. I actually made 3 of the same, thank you cards for my family, to say thanks for the lovely gifts I received.

Obviously the gift I was most excited about was the 3 sets of nestabilities that I got from Frantic Stamper in the USA. The service I received was amazing. Fran got back to me right after I first contacted her, I was given a quote and the information I requested. After ordering my parcel, I was delighted when it arrived in 8 days. Can you believe it. It arrived in time for my birthday, so obviously that made my day!

Anyway, here is the card. The stamp is one I purchased from Best Rubber Stamps, the sentiment is by Hero Arts, the pp is some that I received in a magazine which Ray bought for me from the CNA. It was a pack for R99.00 which included the magazine, a wad of pp and 10 cards & envelopes. Very good value. And then of course, the adorable little mouse is mounted on a circle cut with my circle nestabilities. I also embossed the card using my Spots & Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, and the hearts were cut using a Cuttlebug die.

Hope you are having a good Wednesday!

I got SO spoilt!!

Well, my birthday has come and gone for another year! Another year older, and wiser. I had a fantastic birthday weekend spent with my family down the coast. It was so good for us all to be together. It doesn't happen enough!

Just a quick post, I wanted to post a pic of all the goodies I got from my very special husband. He didn't actually buy the stuff himself, but he let me buy & buy & buy!

I will try and post again later, so you can see the first card I made with all my new STUFF.

See you later.

My first project for Stamp 'n Stuff

This is really one of my favourite stamps, it is just so cute, and the right size to be able to use it in so many ways!

For this card, I teamed the owl stamp with a Hero Arts branch which comes with one of the alphabet sets. I think he really looks adorable perched on a branch. The stamp no. is 708F and he is so reasonably priced at R12.50. Stamp 'n Stuff also stocks another gorgeous little owl, no. 706G. He is on my wish list!

To colour him I used Staedtler coloured pencils and used a solvent Grumtine, for blending.

Here is a close up of the owl.

Thanks for looking, and keep checking back for more projects I have created using stamps from Stamp 'n Stuff!

Some exciting news!!!

I am so happy. As you can see from the icon on the right I am going to design cards for the online shop "Stamp 'n Stuff cc". Anyone who read my blog from the beginning will know that this is one of the goals I hoped to achieve! So needless to say, I am over the moon.

Tonight I am going to create my first card using a stamp available at "Stamp 'n Stuff". I am really looking forward to it! In the meantime, why don't you click on the "Stamp 'n Stuff" icon to the right and check out the extensive range of stamps available. The stamps are all very reasonably priced and of a very high quality!

See you soon.

Back to School is Cool!

The boys are back to school today. It is going to be odd for them not to be here all day. We moved into the new house on breakup day, so I actually haven't spent any time here without the noise & activity of Caide & Bryce around! I am sure I will get used it quite quickly though. LOL!

Had a nice weekend. Just went too quickly as it usually does. Saturday morning was spent doing chores, and helping Ray to put up burglar bars in the kitchen, and then in the afternoon the boys played in a mini kids golf tournament, so we walked around the course with them. It was really nice to get out into the crisp winter air, Jamie loved being pushed around in his pram.

Yesterday, was also chores in the morning. Finally finished putting up shelves in the dining room and Jamie's room, also did loads of washing!! Then we had lunch, went for a walk, and I settled down to finally start scrapping Jamie's birthday pics. Not finished yet, but at least I have made a start. Since I have started cardmaking, my scrapbooking has fallen by the wayside, I need to try and balance the two better! I also finished making 16 inchies for our RSA group swap. It is the first swap I am taking part in, so really excited about it. I have also signed up for a recipe swap, which is going to be a bit more difficult I think, but I am up for the challenge!!

I am not too sure about the card I am posting today, I think it's the colours. On one of the blogs, I saw a challenge to try and put pink & orange together. It turned out very brightly!! The image is really cute, just don't think this card does it justice. It's (just for a change!!) a Best Rubber Stamps, stamp, no. 803L.

Please let me know what you think?!?

Here is a photo I took of Jamie recently. Isn't he just the cutest thing. Love his big teeth, they make his little face look too adorable!

Hope the week ahead is a good one for all of you out there.

Love Rene'

Thank-you's

Hi All,

Hope you are having a great week. I had another tummy bug over the weekend, so didn't get much done. Thankfully I woke up on Monday morning feeling like a new pin!! I think I was also a little run down from the stress of the renovation and the move. So onward and upward. Things are all done in the house now, and it is finally starting to feel like home!! I love it, we are so blessed!
I don't know about you, but I always seem to be in need of "thank-you" cards. To me it is very important to express thanks when someone has been kind to me! So my latest project has been some thank-you cards. I like to make cards in numbers, especially when the card turns out well, so I have spare! I am also in the process of trying to stock up on lots of cards. I was especially inspired by Michelle Wooderson, on her blog she showed a basket full of her cards, so I want to try and do the same. I am a huge fan of her work, anyone else out there!?!
Here is a close up of the card:

And here are all five. This is also a "Best Rubber Stamps" stamp, no. 4142.20 and the sentiment is 4055.10. I used my d'vine swirl Cuttlebug embossing folder and added some pricking. I have never done a card with the colours blue & orange together, but I was really pleased with the way it turned out. Very summery! Yes I know we are in the middle of winter!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Independance Day!

To all you ladies who are lucky enough to live in the USA, I hope you have a very happy 4th of July. I have read on your blogs that many of you are hosting BBQ's and such, so I hope you all have a blast today. I think it is amazing what a proud country you live in and how you are all so patriotic about your history!

Today I am going to post a card I made just before we moved, I needed to create something because I was going insane not doing anything creative. I was pleased with the way this one turned out, the 2 snails are SO cute! This is also a Best Rubber Stamps, stamp no. 517.14. I think it is the perfect stamp to use on a "just because" card, and the sentiment "snail mail" obviously fits it to a tee!

Yesterday I received a lovely card from my friend Angella wishing us all the best in our new house, it was unexpected and so sweet. Thanks Angella, I really appreciate the gesture. Here is her card:

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend. We are almost done here with the unpacking and putting up shelves etc etc, so hopefully I will get some time to create something at my lovely new work station. I will post a pick of my new space soon.

We're in!

The move is over and we are in our gorgeous new house!! Wow, it has been a tiring few weeks, but the worst is over and we can now take the time to settle into our new space.

We are so blessed and I am so thankful for what we have. God has been good to us!

Just a quick post tonight. I want to try and have an early night tonight. Jamie woke at 4:30am this morning, so my day starts quite early.

We have had so much help and kindness from our friends and new neighbours, so I quickly put a few "thank-you" cards together to give with a bunch of flowers.

The first pic is of the 2 types of card I made, I made 5 in total.

A close up of the one,
and the other.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.
